2.   What are the general climatic conditions (e.g., average temps, precip. And when do they occur) 

3.   What are the dominant plant species within the type. 

4.   What are the habitat needs of some common game animals that use the type. 

5.   What are (at least 5) other common or important non-game wildlife species you would expect to find in the type. 

6.   What are the dominant land uses within the type (e.g., timber harvest, agriculture, recreation, grazing) be prepared to discuss kinds of harvest, agricultural crops, or grazing.

We will discuss habitats in several, of the 76 or so, ecoregions in the conterminous United States during this class.  The ecoregions we will be concerned with are the following:

Arizona/New Mexico Plateaus
Arizona/New Mexico Mountains
Western High Plains
Southwestern Tablelands
Central Oklahoma-Texas Plains
Central Texas Plateau
Southern Texas Plains
Texas Blackland Prairies
