My homepage
Research interests:
Generally, my research interests address factors that influence the distribution and abundance of organisms at local, regional, and biogeographic scales. I work mostly with stream-fish assemblages but am not bound to a particular taxon. Some of my present research pursuits include: 1) the effects of modified flow regimes and habitat fragmentation on stream fishes, 2) endangered species conservation and ecology, and 3) the roles of colonization and extinction in structuring stream fish assemblages. These are just some of the things that intrigue me and guide my research. For students interested in working with me, I place a premium on independence, resourcefulness, creativity, and quantitative skills (not necessarily in that order!).
Courses taught:
NRM 2302 (Ecology and Conservation of Natural Resources), NRM 2305 (Freshwater Ecology) & NRM 4335 (Fisheries Science).
