Laws designed specifically to protect amphibians have been enacted
in many countries around the world and details are kept by the IUCN Environmental Law
Center in Bonn, Germany (Beebee, 1996). Other research studies are being done in
southwestern parts of the country known as the Southwestern Research Station located in
southeastern parts of Arizona. Here, spadefoot toad reproductions are being researched to
find methods of conservation for this species. In general, other laws include National
Parks and Wildlife Act, Territory Park and Wildlife Conservation Act, Territory Wildlife
Regulations, Wildlife Conservation Act, and much more. The Western Spadefoot toad is not
at this time listed as endangered or threatened, however, if the species is listed in the
future, laws will be enforced to protect the species from endangerment. |
