A broad range of habitat types are
utilized by the Sandhill Crane. Primary habitats include open freshwater wetlands, shallow
marshes, wet meadows, stubble fields, and adjacent uplands.
Along migration routes, habitats used are large, open marshes
and riparian wetlands near agricultural areas.
Non-migratory subspecies are found in wetlands, grasslands and
pine and palm savannahs. |
