The lynx is being considered for federally listed under the Endangered Species act. This comes from the pressures of harvesting lynx for the value of the fur. Studies of the lynx on the Northwest Territories are continuing. Biologists and harvesters are working together preserve this resource (Poole, 1984). Recovery zones are being proposed in order to increase cat numbers. |
