The loggerhead shrike nesting season is from late April to late July (Haas 1995). The female will lay 4-8 grayish-brown eggs that she will incubate for 14-16 days. The male feeds the female during copulation, incubation, and during the early days after hatching occurs (Dickinson 1995). Fledging occurs within 3 weeks but the young are still dependent on their parents 5 weeks after hatching (OGC).
