Diet

Leopard frog tadpoles are herbivorous feeding mainly on plants and algae. They have also been known to scavenge on dead animals. When metamorphosis occurs leopard frogs become carnivores mainly feeding on insects, but occasionally feeding on smaller frogs. It seems that the main criteria for the frogs next meal is that it is moving, is of an acceptable size, and is palatable (Cueller 1968).
