Common Diseases
The only known disease that has effected the populations of the leopard frog is a bacterial infection called red leg. Regrettable, scientists in Canada have been unable to find the reason for the decline in the leopard frog population. Many hypothesis have been made that it could be a combination of many local extremes in the environment, global changes, or possibly the increased contamination of our valuable natural resources like: air, soil, and water (Cueller 1997).
