Geographic Range of Javelinas:

Peccaries are found in Neartic and Neotropical environments.
The fourteen subspecies are found ranging from northern Argentina,
parts of Central America, southern Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico.
Their distribution in Texas is restricted mainly to West Texas, and the
brush land of the south unless put on game ranches elsewhere.  Little
doubt exits that there are significant differences in the sizes of collared
peccaries from different parts of their range (Sowls, 1997).  Texas and
Arizona has documented larger body size than most of the other geographic
areas.  Movement throughout javelinas geographic areas depends on many
factors.  For instance, land boundaries, wet or dry season and the vegetation
at the time of the two seasons.
