The Great Horned Owl will sound a wide variety
of calls from a hawk-like cry to hissing, beak snapping, meowing, baying, shrieks and
coos. The most common call is a low, deep series of long and short whoo-hoos usually
repeated between 3 and 8 times (Terres 1966 and Voous 1989). |
