Human/Economic values

The black-tailed jackrabbit has been widely used as a food source for humans (Ballenger 2000). Although jackrabbit fur is not valuable, nor durable, it has been used extensively in the trimming of garments and gloves and in the manufacturing of felt (Ballenger 2000).
