Every fall thousands of sportsmen take to the fields in search of the bobwhite quail. Since the bobwhite is a non-migratory game bird, it can be lured in with the aid of bait. Many sportsmen hunt these elusive birds with the help of a dog, but this tactic is not necessary. Here in Texas the state allows a bag limit of 15 birds per day per hunter, this limit will hopefully keep the birds in check for future hunting seasons.
