Migration
There is much variation as to when Canada geese migrate. Basically, they
migrate twice per year. They migrate south in the fall, and north in the
spring. With 11 subspecies and 12 populations recognized, it is difficult
to account for the variance in departure times for migration. Latitude
may be a factor. Geese nesting north of the Arctic Circle may begin fall
migration earlier than those nesting in southern Canada.
