British Virgin Islands: Guana Island

Located in the Caribbean, the British Virgin Islands are part of the Puerto Rico Bank, which also includes the US Virgin Islands. With a variety of colleagues, I have been working here since 1992.

Costa Rica: Corcovado National Park

At the southern edge of Costa Rica lies the Osa Peninsula, containing the jewel of the Costa Rican National Park system: Corcovado. Sirena Station, where I have first gone in 1991, provides one of the best lowland tropical rainforest ecosystems remaining in Central America.

Guam

Located in the Pacific ocean, the island of Guam is a US territory. The Brown Treesnake was accidentally introduced to Guam at the end of WW2, causing a major ecological disaster. I first became involved with this issue in 1996.

Israel

A tiny country in the Middle East, Israel offers a surprising diversity of habitats, from lush Mediterranean to extreme desert. Located between Africa, Asia and Europe, the country has an unusually diverse biota. I have first conducted research in Israel in 1980.
