Accommodations and extra help

If you are having problem with any aspect of the class, or if issues outside the class are affecting your academic performance, please TALK TO ME as soon as possible. I will take all reasonable steps to help, but the earlier I am aware of the problem, the greater my ability to do so.

Texas Tech is committed to creating an inclusive environment. I am especially interested in providing a learning environment in which all students can feel at home, regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or other factors. Several programs are available to help minorities, for example through the Office of Community and Multicultural Affairs and via the Raiders Rojos program.

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Texas Tech provides students with documented learning, mechanical, mobility, or visual disabilities special accommodations in classroom and testing situations.  Find out more

Some of the programs designed to provide extra academic support are:

The Learning Center. Among other services, TLC provides peer tutors in math and science.

XL, which offers courses for personal and academic skill development.

The Success Center provides academic support, leadership development opportunities, and career exploration experiences that will enable students to succeed in college.

The Ombudsman's Office offers confidential dispute resolution services for students. This is the place to go for issues with campus policies, unfair treatment, and more.
